Join the Gateway Family
We would love to welcome your child to Gateway School. The process is straightforward — here is everything you need to know to get started.
No complicated forms or long waiting periods. Just follow these steps and we will guide you through the rest.
Call us, send a WhatsApp message, or fill in our contact form. Tell us your child's name, age, and which class you are applying for. We will confirm availability and give you all the information you need to proceed. We are very easy to reach — and we respond fast.
We invite every new family to visit Gateway before enrolling. Walk the campus, see the classrooms, meet a teacher or two — and let your child feel the environment for themselves. A school tour is the best way to know if Gateway is the right fit. No appointment needed during school hours, but calling ahead is always welcome.
Bring the required documents to the school office (see the checklist below). For most classes, this is straightforward — birth certificate, passport photographs, and previous academic records. Our admissions team will check your documents and confirm everything is in order.
Students applying for JSS1 or mid-stream secondary entry sit a short entrance assessment in English and Mathematics. This is not a gate-keeping exercise — it helps us understand where your child is so we can support them properly from day one. Results are usually available within a few days. Nursery and Primary applicants do not sit an entrance exam.
Once your application is accepted, the school will issue an offer letter and a breakdown of fees for the session. Payment of the first-term fees confirms your child's place. After payment, you will receive a welcome pack with the school calendar, uniform requirements, booklist, and resumption date.
On resumption day, bring your child to school in full uniform. Our teachers and prefects will be on hand to welcome new students and help them find their feet. Within a week, most new students feel right at home — and that is exactly how we like it.
Documents required vary slightly by school and class. Select your category below.
For Crèche, Nursery 1, and Nursery 2 applications, the requirements are minimal — we want the process to be easy for parents.

Gateway School's fee structure varies by class level and session. Rather than publish figures that can quickly go out of date, we share the current fee breakdown directly with interested families during the admissions process.
When you contact us to begin your application, we will send you a full breakdown of fees for your child's class — including what is covered, how payment is structured across the term, and any available payment options. There are no hidden fees at Gateway. Everything is clearly communicated upfront.
Some of the questions parents ask us most often. If yours is not here, just call or WhatsApp us — we are happy to help.
As early as possible. Gateway is a popular school and spaces — especially in Nursery, Primary 1, and JSS1 — fill up quickly before the new session begins in September. We recommend applying at least two to three months before the start of the session you are targeting.
That said, we do accept applications throughout the year and will always let you know honestly if a space is available. If the class is full, we can add your child to a waiting list and contact you as soon as a space opens up.
For Nursery and Primary applicants — no. We do not require an entrance exam for these levels. We assess children informally during a short welcome session to understand where they are academically.
For Secondary School applicants (JSS1 entry and transfers), a short written assessment in English Language and Mathematics is required. This is not a test to exclude your child — it is simply a placement tool so we can support them properly from the start. Most students pass comfortably with adequate primary school preparation.
Yes, we accept mid-term and mid-session transfers where space permits. We understand that families relocate, change schools for various reasons, and need flexibility. Contact us and we will do our best to accommodate your child promptly.
Transfer students are given a brief settling-in period and paired with a class mate to help them find their feet quickly.
Yes. All Gateway students wear the school uniform. Details of the uniform — including where to purchase it — are provided in the welcome pack given to families after their application is accepted. We can also direct you to approved uniform vendors when you visit.
Gateway School has a dedicated online result portal at results.gateway4learning.com.ng . Once your child is enrolled, you will be given login instructions and a student PIN to access results online — any time, from any device.
You can also visit the Check Results page on this website.
Gateway Secondary offers three streams in Senior Secondary School:
All streams include compulsory English Language and Mathematics. See the Secondary School page for a full breakdown.
We understand that many parents work and may not always be available at 3:00pm. Please speak with our administration team directly about after-school arrangements. We will advise you on what is available for your child's class level.
We welcome this conversation. Please reach out to us directly so we can have an honest discussion about your child's needs and how our teachers can support them. We assess each child individually and are committed to ensuring every Gateway student — regardless of background or ability — has the opportunity to thrive.
