School One
Crèche to Primary 6 — where every child's journey begins with care, curiosity, and the confidence to grow into who they are meant to be.
The early years of a child's education are the most important — and the most delicate. At Gateway Nursery and Primary School, we take that responsibility seriously. Children who walk through our doors — some as young as two years old — are welcomed into a warm, structured environment where learning feels like an adventure, not a chore.
Our nursery and primary classes are deliberately small. We believe that when a teacher knows every child by name — knows who is shy, who is restless, who needs extra encouragement — the results speak for themselves. Parents tell us all the time: "My child actually wants to come to school." That is the best compliment we could ever receive.
By the time a student completes Primary 6 at Gateway, they are confident, well-read, mathematically strong, and ready — not just for secondary school Common Entrance, but for the world that lies beyond it.
Ten years of foundational education — from the very first day of school all the way through to Primary 6 leaving certificate.
Our crèche is a safe, nurturing space for toddlers. Play-based learning, sensory activities, socialisation, and early language skills form the foundation of everything that follows. Qualified caretakers and teachers are always present.
Children begin structured phonics, numbers, handwriting, and storytelling. The classroom is vibrant and colourful — learning happens through songs, activities, and guided play. By Nursery 2, children are reading simple words and writing their names with confidence.
The full national curriculum begins here. English, Mathematics, Basic Science, Social Studies, and Igbo all feature. By Primary 3, all Gateway children are reading fluently and solving multi-step maths problems with ease.
Upper primary builds on lower primary with deeper subject content. Primary 6 students receive dedicated Common Entrance and Junior WAEC preparation, and graduate with the confidence and academic skills to excel in secondary school.
Our curriculum covers all Federal Ministry of Education approved subjects, enriched with additional programmes that build the whole child.
Subject coverage varies slightly by class level. Crèche and Nursery classes follow a play-based curriculum aligned to the Early Childhood Education framework.
Structure gives children confidence. Here is what a regular school day looks like for Gateway Nursery and Primary pupils.

Children are released to parents or authorised guardians. After-school care available — contact us for details.Choosing a school for your child is one of the biggest decisions you will ever make. Here is what we commit to when you choose Gateway.
Your child's safety is non-negotiable. Our campus has controlled entry points, full-time security, and no child is released to anyone who is not on their authorised pick-up list. Period.
We keep our classes small on purpose. Your child will not be a face in a crowd. Their teacher will know their name, their strengths, their struggles — and will care genuinely about their progress.
Regular report cards, mid-term assessments, and parent-teacher meetings keep you fully informed. And with our online results portal, you can check scores from your phone at any time.
Every Primary 6 student who passes through Gateway leaves fully prepared for Common Entrance and Junior Secondary School. We do not cut corners on exam preparation — but we also do not teach to the test. We teach children to think.
We welcome parents to reach us — by phone, WhatsApp, or in person. If something is worrying you about your child, we want to hear it. No concern is too small for us to take seriously.
We celebrate academic achievement, but we also celebrate the child who showed courage, the one who helped a classmate, the one who finally cracked a difficult concept. At Gateway, every child gets their moment.
"My daughter entered Gateway in Nursery 1 not knowing how to hold a pencil. By Primary 2 she was top of her class. The teachers here genuinely care — you can feel it the moment you walk through the gate."
"What I like most is that the school tells me everything. I always know where my son stands — no surprises at exam time. The online result portal is also very convenient. I can check from my phone without going to the school."
"My son used to cry every morning before school at his old school. Since we moved him to Gateway he runs ahead of me at the gate! The environment is warm — the children are happy here and that matters most to me as a parent."
